Our team is proud to hold RECOVER CPR certifications—the only official veterinary CPR training recognized by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS). This advanced certification means we are trained in the most up-to-date, evidence-based techniques for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, improving the chances of successful outcomes in emergency situations. What is Fear Free?
Fear Free is a progressive approach to veterinary care designed to minimize fear, anxiety, and stress for pets—and for their owners. We recognize that bringing a nervous pet to the veterinarian can be just as stressful for you as it is for them. Pets of all ages, from playful puppies and kittens to senior companions, can feel uneasy during visits. That’s why we’ve embraced Fear Free techniques to help make each visit as calm and positive as possible for both pets and their families.
How do we create a Fear Free experience?
Our team is trained to recognize even subtle signs of fear, stress, and anxiety in pets, allowing us to respond and adapt quickly. We use gentle, low-stress handling techniques and minimize restraint, with species-specific approaches for dogs, cats, exotics, small mammals, and avian pets. Positive distractions such as treats, lick pads, and toys help provide comfort and engagement. When necessary, we may recommend calming medications before the appointment to ease anxiety.
We also maintain personalized care records, documenting each pet’s emotional and physical needs to tailor future visits for their comfort.
To further reduce stress, we offer species-specific waiting areas and examination rooms minimizing unfamiliar scents and sounds that can heighten anxiety. Throughout the visit, we support not only your pet but also you—we take your concerns seriously and work with you to reduce stress, answer your questions, and ensure that both you and your pet feel confident and cared for at every appointment.
