Aardvark Boarding Services

A Veterinary-Supervised Stay

Can your pet not be boarded at traditional facilities due to their diabetes, which requires insulin injections twice daily? Does your pet need to have medication administered every day, or are they recovering from surgery/illness? Can your pet not be boarded at traditional boarding facilities due to breed, medical condition, or other special circumstances? Then Aardvark is the right place for your pet!

We are have a veterinarian on-site and a specialized team of experienced veterinary support staff who are fully equipped to accommodate all of your pet's special needs.

Canine Boarding

For our older guests or guests with special needs we have a full-time veterinarian on staff as well as a number of veterinary technicians that can administer medications and keep a close eye on any chronic conditions.  We offer 3 different size boarding kennels for your convenience and your dogs' comfort.

Guidelines & Requirements

  • All dogs must be free of parasites (fleas/ticks). All dogs are inspected upon entry to our facility, and if parasites are found they will be treated with Capstar and Revolution at an additional cost to you.

  • All dogs must have a negative fecal test within last 3 months.

  • Must be a minimum of four months old.

  • All dogs must be in good health - no coughing, vomiting, or diarrhea at least 48 hours prior to arrival.

  • All dogs must be on a leash and wearing a collar. If using a retractable leash, it must be in locked position at all times.

  • All dogs must have current PA state dog license on file with us. The PA dog warden does check all kennels regularly, and if your dog does not have a current license you will receive a citation with fine.

  • All dogs over 1 year old must be spayed/neutered.

  • All dogs must have the following vaccines up to date:

    • Rabies

    • DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospiris, parainfluenza, and parvovirus)

    • Bordatella

  • Additional recommended vaccines:

    • Canine Influenza

    • Corona

  • All medications must be in original containers with dosing instructions.

Helpful Suggestions

  • On your day of boarding or prior, please complete the Daycare/Boarding Application form and the Pet Care Release form. You can either print them from this website or pick them up at our facility.

  • You will need to bring current proof of vaccinations, proof of current negative fecal exam, and rabies certificate with you as well as a current PA dog license certificate.

  • We do recommend that you bring your dog's own food. Package it in a clearly marked container with your dog's name and feeding instructions.

  • We do welcome belongings from home, but be sure to mark them with your dog's name using a permanent marker; this will help to ensure that these belongings get back to you. We do our very best to make sure that everything brought to us makes it back home, but dogs will be dogs, and we make no guarantee that all belongings will be returned in the condition in which they were left.

  • We will provide your dog with bedding to sleep on but if you choose to send a bed, please make sure it is washable.

Temperament Testing

In order to ensure the happiness and well-being of our guests, all dogs desiring to participate in group activities must undergo a temperament test. Only after successful completion of evaluation will they will be allowed to join our play group during the days they stay with us. In the event that a dog does not pass our testing, they will not be allowed to participate in our group program.  However, they are always welcome to stay and board with us and have individual or one-on-one play time.

Daily Activities Packages

  • Group Play – This package is designed for your social pup, as a tired dog is a happy dog. Your pet will spend the day playing with other pups.

  • Individual Play – This package is designed for the individual pup. Your pet will receive two extra bathroom breaks and two 20 minute playtime sessions and a Kong toy in the afternoon.

  • One-on-One – This package is designed for the older or special needs pet. Your pet will receive two extra bathroom breaks and two 20 minute snuggle/play sessions.
